Laura Siekapen
I am currently completing the Get Set Progress Internship offered by Thomas Pocklington Trust, working as an Accessibility Software Tester at Dolphin Computer access. I am extremely passionate about accessibility and universal design and thus feel very honoured to have the opportunity to contribute towards Dolphin’s mission. I particularly enjoy the problem-solving aspect of software testing as I appreciate the challenge and satisfaction of identifying, analysing and finding solutions to very niche issues. My background is in Foreign Languages and English Literature; I am fluent in French and Spanish and am certainly keen to learn more in future. Outside of work, I enjoy nature walks and playing Showdown (often described as a cross-over between table tennis and air hockey, adapted for visually impaired people). I also enjoy playing the piano and currently sit in the First Soprano section of Bristol Chamber Choir.
